The Ankeny Community School District is seeking a Substitute Building Nurse to provide direct health services to students, parents/guardians and staff, and to participate in planning, implementation and evaluation of the school health services program.

The role reports to the Building Principal and offers a daily wage of $175, with hours varying by building and need. Prior school nursing or acute care experience and Iowa RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• RN with valid Iowa licensure.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience in school nursing or acute care.

Responsabilités

• Work well with school personnel, parents, and the public.
• Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of current practices for common childhood illnesses and chronic disease.
• Ability to perform skilled nursing care.
• Administers medications and treatment as ordered.
• Provider care for student and staff illness and accidents.
• Administers care based on individual health care plans and emergency care plans.
• Serves as liaison between home and school regarding student health concerns.
• Document all encounters in the health record system.
• Follows communicable disease control procedures and informs administration and/or parents regarding school exclusion and readmission.
