Job summary

Twin Lakes Recovery Center in Monroe, Georgia is seeking a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse to join our on-site clinical team. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide direct nursing care, monitor patients, administer medications, and participate in care planning in a recovery-focused setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Georgia LPN license, CPR and de-escalation training, and at least one year of nursing experience in a clinical or recovery environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved LPN/LVN program.
• Current Georgia LPN license.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training.
• 1+ year nursing experience in clinical or recovery settings preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and safe medication administration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care under RN supervision.
• Maintain client safety and follow unit/facility policies.
• Assist in health and psychiatric teaching for client and family.
• Serve as a role model for clients and peers.
• Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
• Communicate with medical staff, receive orders, minimize abbreviations.
• Participate in team conferences and share knowledge with team.
• Prepare, administer, and record medications per policy with proper documentation.
• Observe and report to RN supervisor any issues affecting client care.
• Report status changes to RNs and providers; coordinate with other departments.
• Record client symptoms, responses, and progress clearly and concisely.
• Safely perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy/labs, and glucose monitoring.

Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, within the objectives, standards, and policies of the department and within the parameters of the licensing board. Communicates and works collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team i.e., medical staff, administration, clinicians, dietitians, and milieu personnel. Takes reasonable care and precautions to ensure high client safety standards and a therapeutic environment exist.Roles and Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provides direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of clients under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, while always maintaining the assurance of client safety and following unit and facility policies and procedures. Complies with all company safety policies and practices.Assists in relevant health and psychiatric teaching for client and family. Serves as a role model for clients and peers.Shares responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans and nursing care.Effectively communicates with the medical staff, receives verbal/written orders, and takes care to minimize abbreviation or other errors. Participates in team conferences, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas among team members.Prepares, administers, controls and accurately records medications in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed practical nurse, with thorough documentation regarding administration effect and/or adverse effects.Observes, documents, and communicates with/reports to the R.N. in charge/supervisor/DON any clinical, physical, unit or personnel, or other issues which could alter client care. Reports status changes and concerns to registered nurses and providers. Communicates with all departments as needed to ensure that total quality client care is delivered.Consults, follows, and documents with sufficient detail nursing care according to facility policy and procedures. Records client symptoms, responses, and progress concisely, accurately, and completely.Safely and accurately performs vital signs, electrocardiograms, phlebotomy/labs, and diabetic/glucose monitoring.
