University of Mississippi Medical Center seeks an RN - Risk Management Coordinator to support the risk management review process. You will participate in review, evaluation, monitoring, measuring and adjustment of patient care and related claims, and help develop risk minimization programs.

Two years of RN hospital experience is required. Valid RN license; post-hire certification in risk management or patient safety within 18 months is required.

Competenze

• Two (2) years of RN experience in a hospital setting.
• Valid RN License. Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) from ASHRM or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) from IHI required post-hire within 18 months.
• Preferred: Risk Management or quality safety experience.

Mansioni

• Reviews patient medical records and collects data for legal and risk management analyses, studies, and monitoring.
• Conduits legal research, prepares opinions of counsel, and identifies legal issues to develop effective strategies and solutions. Guides providers on patient disclosure and supports early resolution following medical errors.
• Participates in system-wide measurement initiatives related to risk assessment and management; prepares and presents biannual reports on risk management and quality indicators.
• Assists in reviewing clinical practices for quality improvement and loss control; recommends corrective actions; ensures adherence to policy and consistency of care; inputs data and prepares reports.
• Oversees risk management and patient safety policies and ensures compliance with current TJC standards across hospitals and clinics.
• Provides timely, professional customer service and leads investigations and responses to external agency inquiries regarding risk management and quality of care issues. Agencies include: TJC, Mississippi Department of Health, Patient Safety Organizations, Leapfrog, and the Mississippi Attorney General.
