Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital offers a 12-month RN Residency program for new graduates, beginning February or March 2027. It combines precepted orientation, education, mentorship and blended learning to transition from student to professional nurse.

Opportunities exist in Medical/Surgical, Transplant, Cardiac PCC, Critical Care, ED, OR and Women’s Services, with a focus on developing clinical judgment and strong communication in a collaborative Piedmont environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a nursing program.
• Current Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC multi-state license.
• BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• The Staff RN provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff to maintain quality nursing care.

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital's Spring 2027 RN Residency Program will begin February or March 2027

Our 12-month, comprehensive, transition-to-practice RN Residency program facilitates your progress from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship and peer support. Our program prepares new graduate nurses by teaching the knowledge, skills and behaviors that are necessary to continuously improve quality and safety at the point of care. It combines precepted orientation, led by dedicated preceptors, with blended learning experiences.

Opportunities available in Medical/Surgical, Transplant, Cardiac Progressive Care, Critical Care, Emergency Department, Operating Room, Cardiovascular Operating Room, Women's Services and more!

RN Residents will:

• develop clinical judgment needed to rapidly recognize a change in patient's condition and urgency of a clinical situation
• cultivate excellent communication skills, allowing them to engage with colleagues and support patients
• enjoy cohort experiences designed to promote peer and professional socialization and strengthen their professional commitment to nursing
• learn didactic content specifically tailored to new graduates from professional nursing organizations

Responsibilities

The Staff RN provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

Qualifications

Minimum education required:

• Graduate of a nursing program

Minimum licensure/certification required:

• Current license in the state of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC multistate Registered Nurse license
