Job summary

Hospital Sisters Health System in Highland, IL is offering an opportunity for Summer 2027 graduate nurses to transition into an RN role once licensed.

You may start as a Nurse Extern II during your last semester and transition to RN upon licensure. This 36-hour weekly night shift position in Medical‑Surgical and ED at St. Joseph's Hospital includes a sign-on bonus up to $10,000; RN licensure and BLS are required, BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and eligible for licensure.
• RN license in state of practice required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing staff in Medical-Surgical and ED units.
• Transition from Nurse Extern II to RN once licensed.
• Work 36 hours per week on night shifts (7p–7a).
