RN Relief PRN, Float Pool, EWCH, Murphy, NC

Job Summary:

A registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Health is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient. The RN Float nurse is expected to function independently in various care settings, including but not limited to: Med/Surg, ICU, Emergency Department, Behavioral Health Holding area, Same Day Care Unit, and Endoscopy.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Required: Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Experience: Required: Minimum of 2 years' nursing experience in an acute care/hospital setting. Preferred: Experience in medical/surgical, emergency, behavioral health, or outpatient perioperative care.
  • Licensure and Certifications: Current, unrestricted North Carolina RN license or Multi-State Nursing Compact. BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications as specified, with timeframes for completion. Additional training includes de-escalation, MOAB or CPI, and pediatric emergency assessment courses.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to NCBON RN Laws and Rules.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Educate and counsel patients and families.
  • Manage nursing care, supervise staff, and participate in performance improvement.
