Job summary

Penn State Health - St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA is seeking a RN Resident for 2 North Progressive Care Unit. The role is full-time, nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with a $5.00/hour night shift differential and a 0.90 FTE schedule.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates. Eligible Penn State Health employees may receive a 50% tuition discount starting January 1, 2027 for themselves and eligible dependents at Penn State University Park and related campuses.

Qualifications

• RN license/permit valid for state of employment or multistate RN license.
• AHA BLS certification required before end of orientation.
• ACLS certification to be obtained by end of orientation or within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process and professional standards in daily practice.
• Provide care tailored to growth and development and changing patient needs.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Incorporates knowledge of the nursing process and the professional standards of nursing in daily practice. Applies knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed assignments/interventions. Provides consistent care based on the changing physical and psychosocial needs, unique to the patient.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Graduate nurse with a Temporary Practice Permit or Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
• AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
• Obtain AHA ACLS certification by the end of orientation or within six (6) months of hire, whichever occurs first.
