Job summary

Mercy Outpatient Surgery Center is seeking an RN for PRN, 8- or 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday in Edmond, Oklahoma. The role requires nursing education and licensure with preference for 1 year of RN experience. Shifts are 2+ per week with no weekends, holidays, or on-call duties.

The nurse will apply the nursing process, ensure patient safety and confidentiality, and coordinate care with other departments to maintain Mercy Service Standards and mission-driven care.

Qualifications

• RN with current licensure in-state or compact licensure.
• One year of RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintains patient rights and confidentiality.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments and supports Mercy mission and standards.
• Assesses and documents patient status and cares for assigned patients during shifts.

Position Details:

Location: Mercy Outpatient Surgery Center (I35) - Edmond, Oklahoma

Shift: PRN (as needed); minimum of 2 shifts/week

Schedule: 8-hour or 10-hour shifts Monday-Friday (no weekends, no holidays, no call)

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Preferred Experience: One year of RN experience.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses), OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization), S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules, C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification), Other unit-specific certifications as required

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
