Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Beaumont, TX seeks an experienced RN in a perioperative setting. The role supports independent nursing, planning and delegation of care for assigned patients.

Requires BSN preferred, BLS/ACLS/PALS, RN license in Texas, and 1 year perioperative experience. Orientation, competency checks, and ongoing education are provided; schedule is 4 days of 10 hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• BLS required
• RN License in state of employment or compact
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and a Perioperative Department-specific competency validation.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.
• Perioperative RN Residency, or recently practicing in an OR/Perioperative Setting preferred.
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current PALS certification required
• In accordance with CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.

• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
