Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a dedicated nurse to provide direct nursing care in the OB Emergency Department at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. You will implement and monitor patient care plans, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and execute physician and nursing orders.

The role requires BLS and ACLS, along with Alabama RN licensure, with weekend shifts available. Join a respected health system with a strong mission and team-based care.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 1 month (30 days) of hire date.
• Advanced Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months (180 days) of hire date.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing must be obtained prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
