This structured training program is designed for experienced nurses transitioning into perinatal nursing. Participants will complete orientation in both Postpartum and Labor & Delivery at Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla.
Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.
While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position.
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
RN License issued by the State of California.
BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
Certificate of course completion of basic fetal monitoring with commitment to obtain certificate of course completion of intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring from AWHONN within six (6) months of hire date.
Minimum three (3) years of recent RN experience in ICU and/or Emergency Services. Recent experience is within the past one (1) year. If insufficient applicant pool, may consider three (3) years of recent IMU level of experience.
Proficient to expert assessment skills for problem-solving moderately-complex patient scenarios.
Proficient to expert critical thinking and communication skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, amongst interdisciplinary team members.
Demonstrated ability to respond, intervene and/or delegate appropriately to high-acuity and fast-paced environments.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $138,330 - $193,892 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $66.25 - $92.86
