Department: Orlando Health Medical Group – Neurology
Title: RN, Ambulatory Care
Location: 32 W Gore St., Orlando, FL 32806
• Status: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm.
This role administers patient care in an ambulatory setting where patients typically return home the same day or receive care in a post‑acute transitional setting.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the unit/department.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, and TNCC required for certain areas.
- At least one year of experience, unless approved by an AVP level or above.
Responsibilities
- Utilize unique knowledge, skills, and competencies required in ambulatory care nursing practice to promote wellness, restore health, address health‑related situational problems, and provide support in end‑of‑life care.
- Assess patients’ needs and apply current ambulatory care nursing knowledge and evidence‑based practice when developing individualized plans of care.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for appropriate care of patients of all ages served on the assigned unit.
- Assess and interpret patient data to identify age‑specific needs and requirements.
- Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, and document patient care—including assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety—in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner.
- Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and use of patient‑care and unit equipment as defined by unit‑specific requisite skills.
- Prioritize patient care continuously in accordance with evidence‑based practice standards of care.
- Practice effective problem identification and resolution.
- Delegate tasks and duties to healthcare team members in accordance with patient needs and team member qualifications.
- Communicate appropriate information regarding patient condition or unit concerns to other health‑care team members.
- Maintain a safe and caring environment for patients and family.
- Integrate patient and family education throughout the delivery of care.
- Participate in process improvement activities as assigned.
- Demonstrate awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency standards.
- Maintain reasonable, regular, and punctual attendance in line with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
- Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
