Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Mother Baby/Experience RN to supervise nursing staff on shift and ensure quality patient care. The RN will perform assessments, plan care, and collaborate with physicians and clinicians in care planning and implementation.

Active RN licensure and BLS are required; ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC may be required depending on unit. This is a PRN-PRN role on the First Shift at Baptist Medical Center South in Alabama.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure required, BLS required, ACLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC may be required depending on area.
• RN degree required; BSN preferred.
• Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety and infection control standards.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; foster cooperative work environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• The RN shall supervise and coordinate nursing personnel on shift, including weekends and holidays.
• Utilize the nursing process in patient assessments, planning of care, and interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians and other clinicians in planning and implementing patient care.

Highlights: Summary:

The Registered Nurse shall be responsible for the general supervision and coordination of activities of nursing personnel on shift, and during weekends and holidays, in order to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. This individual will utilize the nursing process in patient assessments, planning of care, and performance of care interventions. The RN will collaborate with Physicians and other healthcare clinicians in the planning and implementation of patient care. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education/Experience:

Degree in Nursing required, BSN degree preferred.

License/Certification:

Active RN licensure required, BLS required, Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
