Job description

DESCRIPTION

UC San Diego Health is proud to be a four-time Magnet-designated organization and has now earned Magnet with Distinction from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Magnet is the gold standard for nursing excellence, achieved by only about 10% of hospitals worldwide. Magnet with Distinction is awarded to the highest-performing Magnet organizations, with only a select few earning this prestigious honor. This recognition reflects our commitment to transformational leadership, professional nursing excellence, innovation, exceptional patient outcomes, and an empowering practice environment where nurses thrive.

7 West is a 23-bed acute care Progressive Care Unit at UC San Diego Health's Hillcrest Campus. It provides care for a diverse population of high-acuity medical-surgical patients and offers a 6-bed direct observation room for more critically ill patients requiring closer monitoring.

7 West team boasts a high retention rate. The nurses in this unit are experienced, highly skilled clinicians with a heart. They adapt to complex and rapidly changing environments, ensuring great patient outcomes. The team recognizes the value of each individual and is guided by the commitment to nursing excellence and healthcare leadership while maintaining patient and family centered care.

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge.
