RWJBarnabas Health’s Labor & Delivery unit seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in a fast-paced setting.

The RN will assess patients, administer medications, document in EPIC, and collaborate with physicians and teams to ensure safe, efficient care. Evening/night shifts are available with growth opportunities within the organization.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; BSN encouraged.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based meds and hands-on care.
• Partner with physicians and providers to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity.

The Labor & Delivery Unit cares for our Labor Patients & assistsin Vaginal and C/S Deliveries.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS & ACLS & NRP certification. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior RN L&D or acute care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a consistent 3-12 hour shifts/week 7p-7:30a, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
