Job summary

Quality Correctional Health Care in Hamilton County, TN is seeking an RN Staff Nurse for full-time day and night shifts. You will provide nursing care under the supervision of the Site Administrator and the Responsible Physician, following nursing standards and QCHC policies.

The role includes emergency response, patient assessments, medication administration, chronic care support, and collaboration with medical staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved registered nursing program with a current, valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Current CPR
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a healthcare setting, with one year of experience in correctional healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond and intervene to all emergency situations
• Conduct Patient Intake paperwork & Assessments
• Verify and obtain orders for patient medication
• Conduct Sick Call clinic
• Administer medications in accordance with nursing standards and correctional regulations
• Complete and document ordered treatments, assessments, and collect ordered labs
• Assist the provider with Chronic Care Clinic
• Accurately document all patient information, nursing assessments and interventions
• Monitor for and report changes in patient's condition
• Ensure daily nursing task are completed within prescribed timeframe.
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Work closely with HSA, Physician, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist HSA in supervision of clinical staff
• Foster support and cooperation among staff members to promote teamwork.
• Assist with training and orientation of new staff
• Assist with assessment of clinical skills of each staff member
• Participate in all CQI/performance improvement activities as assigned.
• Attend ALL mandatory meetings
• Follow QCHC policies, procedures & guidelines
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse (RN) functions directly under the supervision of the Site Administrator and the Responsible Physician. Pay Rate: $45/hr

Shift differential $3.00/hr
