Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System is seeking a Registered Nurse for Endoscopy on a PT/DAYS schedule in Amarillo, TX. You will provide safe, patient‑centered nursing care, lead the healthcare team, and uphold our standards of service excellence within the facility's policies and philosophy.

The role requires RN licensure in Texas, BLS, ACLS and PALS within specified timeframes, and de-escalation training. You will contribute to a culture of exemplary care and participate in ongoing professional

Qualifications

• RN program graduate and Texas nursing license required.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS within specified timeframes.
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire is expected.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care using the nursing process.
• Maintains professional behavior and manages conflicts with appropriate resources.
• Ensures safety for patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Assesses patient safety risks and applies necessary precautions.

Position: Registered Nurse / RN / Endoscopy/ PT / DAYS

Summary: Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care utilizing the nursing process, clinical skills, and patient education
• Maintains professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts, utilizing appropriate resources, as needed
• Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, families, visitors, and employees
• Assesses risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precautions
• Complies with appropriate and approved standards, as outlined by the organization and accrediting agencies
• Complies with safety and injury prevention standards to minimize risk to self, co-workers, patients, and visitors
• The concepts of the patient centered care delivery model will provide the foundation for all nursing care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in Texas
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days of start date and maintain certification throughout employment. This must be obtained prior to providing patient care.
• ACLS within 3 months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment
• PALS within 3 months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire; does not require maintaining
• Ongoing compliance with demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies as determined by the facility
