Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking an Electrophysiology Float Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Labs in Grand Blanc, MI. The role supports EP procedures, monitors patients, administers meds, and coordinates care with the team.

The position offers a sign-on bonus of $5,000 and premium pay components including 5% market differential, 10% night shift differential, and $2 weekend differential. Schedule: PT Days, 7a–5:30p. Hospital: Henry Ford Health Genesys.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Michigan RN license with eligibility for hire within 60 days.
• BLS certification required within 90 days or as per policy.
• Graduate of an approved RN nursing program.
• Experience with EP measurements and mapping systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care per standards.
• Develop multidisciplinary plans of care emphasizing patient rights and needs.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, safety, and discharge instructions.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products per policies.
• Monitor vital signs, labs, glucose, and respond to changes in condition.
• Perform catheterization, wound care, specimen collection, and prep for procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and teams for discharge planning.
• Respond to emergencies with timely intervention and proper protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation and promote safety and quality.

GENERAL SUMMARY

• Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established standards, clinical practice guidelines, and patient care goals.
• Develop and coordinate multidisciplinary plans of care while promoting patient rights, dignity, culture, preferences, and expressed needs.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, safety measures, discharge instructions, and self-care needs.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other therapeutic interventions according to established policies and procedures.
• Monitor patient physiological status, including vital signs, lab results, pain levels, intake/output, and blood glucose, recognizing and responding appropriately to changes in condition.
• Perform and assist with nursing procedures including catheterization, wound care, specimen collection, IV therapy, and patient preparation for procedures and surgery.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, hospital staff, patients, families, and community agencies to ensure continuity of care and effective discharge planning.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations through timely intervention, use of emergency equipment, and adherence to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, patient education, and outcomes.
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, confidentiality, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to team members while fostering a respectful, collaborative work environment.

Education/Experience Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Or Certified Instructor.
• Education: - Requires a graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.
• EP experience working with cardiac measurements and using the stimulator,
• Experience with EP mapping systems
