Job Summary

Geisinger is offering an Inpatient Registered Nurse position at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV) location for night shifts. The role offers a base rate of $41.41 with potential for higher rates for experienced nurses and up to $7.00 shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends. A hiring incentive of up to $23,500 is available for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities
  • Complete assessments in accordance with scope of practice and unit standards.
  • Address the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
  • Formulate, coordinate, and provide patient‑care plans, including education and discharge planning, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies as per policy and procedure.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise patient‑care plans based on patient response.
  • Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other team members; proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs.
  • Problem‑solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures related to equipment use.
  • Participate in unit‑based decision‑making regarding evidence‑based practice.
  • Work toward unit and organization goals and be accountable for unit‑specific metrics.
  • Participate in patient‑quality and safety education programs and activities aimed at improving departmental and organizational quality and safety.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred) or graduate from Specialty Training Program‑Nursing (required).
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania (RN_State of Pennsylvania).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
