Gundersen Health System in Wisconsin is seeking a Clinic Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to support multiple ambulatory departments, delivering evidence-based care while rotating across primary and specialty clinics. Expect Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with no weekends or holidays. Starting pay is $31.98/hour plus a $2.50/hour float pool differential; benefits include a strong team

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • RN license to practice in Wisconsin upon hire.
  • RN license to practice in Minnesota and Iowa within 3 months of hire.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 6+ months of previous nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based nursing care for diverse ambulatory patient populations.
  • Assist with phone triage, MyChart communications, medication refills, and occasional procedures.
  • Adapt to daily department assignments based on organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth daily operations.

Primary Location: La Crosse WI
Secondary Locations: Onalaska and regional clinics (travel tailored to home location whenever possible)

FTE: Part-time; 0.6 (48 hours per two weeks)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM | No weekends, holidays, or on-call obligations

About the Role

As a Clinic Float Pool RN, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patient care across multiple ambulatory departments, including primary care and specialty care areas. Float Pool nurses are deployed to departments that need immediate staffing support to help teams maintain seamless operations and uninterrupted patient care. Expect meaningful variety, flexibility, and learning across specialties. The Clinic Float Pool is a stronggroup of 30 RNs and 20 MAs that values connection, support, and teamwork.

What You’ll Need

Required:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • RN license to practice in Wisconsin upon hire
  • RN license to practice in Minnesota and Iowa within 3 months of hire

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • 6+ months of previous nursing experience
