Job Description:

This position includes a $5,000 Sign-on Bonus with a 1-year commitment to the organization. Sign-On Bonus Eligibility to External Applicants ONLY with 1 year RN Acute Care Experience.

The Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital will give our community its first-ever wellness destination, offering improved access to nutrition education, exercise resources, and state-of-the-art care. Our new facility spans over 200,000 square feet, with 58 acute care beds, and features an organic farm providing nutrition, education, and therapies. We aim to serve as a community hub that promotes a higher quality of life and sets a new standard for health and wellness in Lenawee County.

Position Summary:

Provides professional nursing care appropriate to the age of the patients. Participates in patient/family teaching and provides leadership by working collaboratively with physicians and healthcare personnel. Communicates patient information accurately and maintains confidentiality. Continually seeks professional growth through literature, seminars, workshops, and affiliations.

Job Requirements:

• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS required within one year of hire for CCU staff.
• Ability to respond effectively to critical situations involving patients, staff, and visitors.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and skills.
• Ability to critique own practice and pursue corrective actions.
• Adaptability to a changing environment and openness to new ideas.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care outcomes.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Attend at least 80% of staff meetings and participate in problem resolution.
• Flexibility to work additional shifts to ensure continuity of care.
• Graduate of an approved nursing school.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting preferred, especially in critical care.
