Job Summary
Geisinger proudly offers a full-time inpatient RN position with up to a $26,000 hiring incentive for eligible candidates. Base hourly rate $39.75, with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring compliance with State Board of Nursing standards.
- Direct patient teaching and coordinate activities of ancillary personnel.
- Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies, per policy and procedure.
- Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
- Address patients’ and families’ physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs throughout the continuum of care.
- Formulate, coordinate, and implement care plans, including education, family needs, and discharge planning, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise care plans based on patients’ responses.
- Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs.
- Make and adjust patient assignments with other team members, delegating tasks based on skill, expertise, time availability, acuity, and patient needs.
- Problem-solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures regarding equipment and patient care processes.
- Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding evidence-based practice utilization.
- Serve as a team member working toward unit and organizational goals and accountability for metrics.
- Support initiatives that reinforce the Magnet mission.
- Participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities to improve organizational quality and safety.
- Maintain compliance with all organization policies, procedures, and job-specific obligations.
Qualifications
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program - Nursing (required).
- Basic Life Support Certification (default issuing body).
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania (RN_State of Pennsylvania).
- Demonstrated clinical skills, communication, interpersonal communication, organizing, preceptor skills, and teamwork.
