Job summary

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - San Marcos seeks a competent RN to provide independent nursing care in a high-acuity setting. The role emphasizes assessment, planning and evaluation using the nursing process, and delegating tasks when appropriate to maintain patient safety.

The position requires BLS and an RN license in the state or a compact state. Evening shift, full-time, with a focus on patient education and ongoing professional development within a renowned Chest Pain Center.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with BLS certification.
• 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.

• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients and families; identifies issues and resources.

• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred

Experience

• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
