Job summary

AdventHealth in Port Charlotte, Florida, is seeking a critical care registered nurse for a full-time day shift. You will provide high-acuity patient care, participate in rapid response support, and ensure accurate EMR documentation.

Expect collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and ongoing professional development within a faith-based, patient-centered environment. The role requires an RN license, 3+ years in critical care, and familiarity with EPIC.

Qualifications

• Certified RN with current license.
• Experience in critical care environments.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and EPIC.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to interpret EKGs and monitor acute changes.

Responsibilities

• Communicates courteously with patients and staff in person or by phone.
• Maintains accurate documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Responds promptly to deteriorations and emergencies.
• Educates on early warning signs and care plans in real time.
• Support and coach bedside nurses during rapid response events.
• Collaborates to manage patient flow and ensure timely placement.
• Participates in peer interviewing and review processes.
• Adheres to safety, cost, and practice standards.
• Collects data for quality improvement and program evaluation.

Job Description

• Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
• Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
