Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Temple - Pavilion Day Surgery Center is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to oversee patient care in a busy day surgery setting. The position supports a compact unit with strong teamwork, focusing on pre/post operative care across sports medicine, ophthalmology, ENT, plastics, and other specialties.

The RN will assess patients, plan and implement care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Grad of an Accredited RN Program.
• Specialized field of study should be nursing.
• RN license.
• Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
• 2 years of RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Educate patients and families; empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.

PRN Pre/Post RN for busy day surgery center

Schedule:

Must be flexible to work 8- or 10-hour shifts with start times as early as 6:00 AM and end times as late as 6:30 PM. or until last patient is discharged. Flexibility to support departmental scheduling needs is required.

Overview

Ambulatory Day Surgery Center primarily services sports medicine, ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Pain management, general surgery, surgical oncology, urology, and ob/gyn.

Unit Summary

8 suite OR / 27 pre/post rooms

No weekends, No holidays, No Call

Patient centered focus with interdepartmental collaboration and teamwork. This is a small unit that is like a family; not only do we take care of the patients, but we take care of each other.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
