Job summary

Woodland Heights Medical Center in East Texas is seeking an RN PRN to provide patient-centered care across the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and the care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license in state required
• 0-2 years clinical nursing experience or student rotations in acute care required
• BCLS certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with organizational policies and nursing process.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings accurately, reporting changes to care team.
• Administers prescribed medications, monitors for side effects, and documents administration.
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency and scope.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
• Responds to medical emergencies, participates in CPR and code team activities.
• Provides patient and family education on conditions, treatment, and discharge plans.
• Implements infection control protocols to prevent transmission of infections.
• Monitors and operates medical equipment as needed for patient safety.
• Maintains patient safety and a clean, safe care environment.
• Participates in audits, chart reviews, and compliance checks.
• Demonstrates professional decision-making and accountability in care delivery.
• Documents care and education thoroughly in medical records.
• Engages in ongoing professional development to maintain clinical competency.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes.
• OR Services RN: pre/intra/post-op assessments, scrubbing, and instrument handling.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
