Kingwood Pines Hospital, LLC seeks a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care for child, adolescent, geriatric and chemical dependency patients. You will assess mental health needs, plan and evaluate care, and monitor medications as ordered by physicians.

Join an interdisciplinary team, lead licensed practical nurses and counselors, contribute to treatment plans, document care, and apply crisis intervention strategies to ensure patient safety and milieu management.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; Associate's Degree required, BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license required; CPR and Crisis Intervention training must be completed before start.
• Minimum 1 year related nursing experience; psychiatric nursing experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership and direction to LVNs, psychiatric technicians, and counselors; direct milieu management.
• Assess patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
• Contribute to the interdisciplinary treatment plan.
• Document nursing care, treatment, and patient response.
• Recognize signs of mental health and chemical dependency disorders and apply appropriate interventions.

Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process. Duties include: assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; to ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors. Direct milieu management.
• Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
• Contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
• Document nursing care, treatment, and patient’s response to treatment
• Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and chemical dependency disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas required.
• Minimum of one (1) year related experience required.Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
• CPR and HWC Crisis Intervention training must be completed prior to beginning work.
