Job summary

Ambulatory Surgery Center Tampa, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Perioperative Nurse to plan, perform and evaluate preoperative and postoperative nursing care until discharge.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher is required.
• Minimum 1+ year nursing experience in a clinical setting (PACU/ICU or Surgery preferred).
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS certification is required at employment (online not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS required if facility requires it within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients' care area adequately before case.
• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure.
• Conduct complete physical and psychological assessment and review history and tests.
• Administer pre-operative medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks with proper technique.
• Check dressings and operative site and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Verify patients meet discharge criteria.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Join our team as a Perioperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively and postoperatively until your patients are discharged. What you will do in this role:

Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case

Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure

Conduct complete physical, and psychological assessment and evaluation of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests

Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed

You will exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks

Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon

Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria

Qualifications you will need:

Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required

1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery

Active RN license as required by state of employment

BCLS Certification upon employment. *online certification not acceptable

ACLR required within 30-days of hire

PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire
