Job summary

Naples Comprehensive Health - NCH is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Pre Admission department at our Naples, FL site. The RN will independently plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, triage patients, and coordinate pre-admission testing in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

The role requires an active Florida RN license and BLS certification, with at least one year of healthcare facility or physician office experience. Proficiency in Epic and Kronos is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.

• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse independently plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in patient care situations using standards of care and policy and procedure. Provides direct nursing care to patients in person or Via phone call.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Other duties may be assigned.
• Triages patients, verify allergies, current medications and pharmacy. Utilizes nursing process to develop patient’s plan of care which includes all the following: assessment, implementation, planning, evaluation and patient teaching.
• Demonstrates knowledge of safe medication administration and education of prescribed medications in accordance with nursing standards.
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and organize patient care.
• Timely and accurate documentation reflects clinic standards.
• Observes, records and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians/APP. Proficient in EPIC.
• Provides patient & family education regarding diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and pre-surgical instruction.
• Maintains/reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information in Epic.
• Coordination of pre-surgical evaluations as requested by physician/APP.
• Performs necessary diagnostic testing within the scope of pre-admission testing.
• Handling of specimens, performing lab testing in a timely manner. Verifying results in Epic. Participates in proficiency testing. Reports abnormal results with Physician or APP.
• Providing excellent customer service and patient experience.
• Maintains the principles of confidentiality and HIPPA. Understands the legal/regulatory requirements related to the release of information.
• Able to use the information systems pertinent to the job.
• Provides feedback regarding problems and complaints and offers constructive suggestions. Uses chain-of-command for problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Follows hospital standards related to Kronos system.
• Accepts responsibility for own learning needs. Attends courses and in-services offered. Maintains clinical skills specifically required on unit. Maintains knowledge of current policies.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

• Minimum of Associate’s Degree required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a health care facility or private physician office.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
