Job summary

AdventHealth Overland Park is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care in a hospital setting. You will perform assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care.

You will educate patients and families, document care, adhere to infection control standards, respond to codes, and participate in performance improvement. RN license and BLS are required; BSN preferred and acute care experience is valued.

Qualifications

• RN license required
• BLS CPR certification required
• 1+ acute care hospital setting preferred
• Fluent in English (read, write, speak)
• Proficient with basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments evaluating physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and monitor outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and outcomes.
• Ensure infection control and safety compliance.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
• Supervise and delegate care to healthcare team members.
• Respond to code situations promptly and effectively.
