Job summary

OneCore Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a full-time registered nurse for pre-admit responsibilities. You will assess and plan patient care from admission through discharge, support critical pathways, and coordinate care with physicians and staff.

The role requires current RN licensure in the state, BCLS, and ACLS within six months; PALS preferred. 1-2 years hospital experience, particularly in surgery settings, and fluent English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of nursing program.
• Reads, writes and speaks English fluently; cognitive skills for math, reading, filing and sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension.
• Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
• Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocol.
• Interacts with all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees in a mature, responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional environment.

Graduate of nursing program.**Environmental and physical requirements** - Requires physical ability for long term standing, occasional sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching with reaching above head and below waist. The employee must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, have cognitive skills for math, reading, filing and sterile technique skills. Requires communication skills to deal well with employees, patients, families and physicians. Vision for near, mid-range, far and accommodation. Hearing for low, medium, and high pitch. Job risk include exposure to blood and body fluids (high), contact with laser and chemicals, lifting of 30 - 75 pounds, and exposure to infectious disease.
