Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift in the General Surgery Unit. This fast-paced inpatient unit serves Urology, Colon and Rectal patients with a 1:5 nurse–patient ratio.

Qualifications

RN licensed and in good standing.
1 year acute inpatient experience.
BLS certification or obtain within 30 days.
Graduate of an Accredited Program.
Specialized field of study should be nursing.

Responsibilities

Provide care in fast-paced Surgical Inpatient units.
Mentor and collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
Support ERAS program and ostomy care as needed.
Maintain patient safety and accurate documentation.

Patient Population: Urology, Colon, Rectal

Patient Ratios:1: 5

Number of Beds: 35

Unit specific points: Tenured staff for mentoring and development. Top 30 surgical program for Colo/Rectal in US News and World Report. Engaged surgeons. Robust interdisciplinary team. Cohesive management team with skills and tools to develop professional nurses. ERAS- Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Program. Ostomy care, maintenance & teaching.

Please note this is a Surgical Inpatient role and not a Perioperative role.
