Job summary

Children's of Alabama is seeking an experienced Surgical Services Flow & Scheduling Coordinator in the operating room. This role leads real-time intraoperative patient flow and centralized surgery scheduling, ensuring readiness and optimal block utilization across services.

The position requires a BSN, 3–5 years perioperative nursing experience, and leadership experience. Travel between the Main Campus and Children’s South Campus is required to support operations.

Qualifications

• Essential: BSN and active AL RN license.
• Minimum 3–5 years perioperative nursing experience.
• 1 year in leadership, charge, or coordination role (preferred).
• CNOR certification is preferred within 2 years of hire but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as logistical lead for Surgical Services and manage intraoperative patient flow.
• Maximize OR block utilization and ensure surgical readiness.
• Oversee daily case flow across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide 24/7 operational accountability for perioperative functions.
• Travel between Main Campus and Children’s South Campus as needed.
