Qualifications

• ADN required for RN-Pediatrics role.

• Current and valid RN license in Alabama.
• BLS certification within facility policy timeframe.
• PALS certification within facility policy timeframe.
• Pediatric or neonatal nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments and develops individualized plans of care for pediatric patients.
• Administers medications, treatments, and performs clinical procedures.
• Monitors patient conditions and communicates findings to the healthcare team.
• Supports daily activities including nutrition, hygiene, ambulation, and elimination.
• Provides age-appropriate education to patients and families.
• Ensures accurate documentation of care in accordance with organizational standards.
• Responds to and manages clinical emergencies effectively.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care and discharge planning.
• Adheres to infection control, safety protocols, and ethical standards of care.

Job Summary

• The RN-Pediatrics provides direct and indirect nursing care for pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence. This role includes comprehensive assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation in a family-centered care environment. The RN works collaboratively with the healthcare team and families to support optimal health outcomes for children while considering developmental, emotional, and cultural needs.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), required


• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice


• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the time frame specified in facility policy


• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within the time frame specified in facility policy


• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), preferred

Experience

• Previous pediatric or neonatal nursing experience preferred


• 12-lead ECG, preferred
