Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• BLS certification through AHA or ARC.
• ACLS certification if in a Critical Care area (upon hire or within first year).
• One-year of current acute care RN experience.
• Military RN experience considered.

Part of Cleveland Clinic Children's, the M40 Pediatric Stepdown Unit is dedicated to the care of children of all ages. This team focuses on treating patients with congenital heart disease and a variety of medical and surgical needs, including pre-heart transplant care. The dedicated and highly trained caregivers on this unit deliver world-class patient care through an intricate nursing care model that is rooted in evidence-based practice and always puts patients first.

A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation| 3-12hour shifts| 7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am | weekend requirements.

• Provide direct nursing care.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• *If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment
• One-year of current acute care RN experience
• Will consider military RN experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of S cience in N ursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
