Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Pediatric RN to deliver and coordinate care for children across our Urbana and Bloomington service sites. You will participate in a structured orientation (8–12 weeks) before transitioning to a full-time role in Bloomington, with training in Urbana first.

The position emphasizes high-quality patient education, coordination of care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes for pediatric patients and families.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA)
• Illinois RN license or eligibility
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required
• RN with >1 year pediatric experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Document care accurately and adhere to standards of practice
• Perform telephone triage and administer treatments as directed
• Mentor staff and students; support quality improvement efforts

Overview

Preferred RN experience in inpatient or outpatient Pediatrics.

There will be training requirements in Urbana before transitioning to Bloomington full time.

Approximately 8-12 weeks orientation depending on experience level.

Delivers and coordinates competent care for patients and families within the designated practice area. Adheres to established standards of care and scope-of-practice requirements while maintaining complete, accurate documentation. Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students. Provides health, wellness, and patient education to individuals and groups. Performs telephone triage for patients. Administers medications and treatments as directed. Directs and supervises care provided by other healthcare personnel. Conducts research to improve clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing , Work Experience: RN >1yr

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $33.11per hour - $53.88per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health.
