Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Nurse Diabetes Educator/Coordinator to provide clinic and hospital diabetes education. You will be an experienced nurse with current Missouri RN licensure and deliver inpatient and outpatient diabetes education.

CDES certification is preferred or may be obtained within two years. Expertise in pediatrics and endocrine education for families is desired at Mercy, with a focus on compassionate, collaborative care and ongoing growth.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Missouri or current Missouri work permit.
• CDES certification or willingness to obtain within two years.
• Preferred: CDES certification.
• Pediatric and endocrine education experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing duties in the clinic setting and hospital education for patients with diabetes.
• Deliver Diabetes and Nutritional Education Services in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Offer Endocrine Education to patients and families (growth hormone deficiency, adrenal disorders, precocious puberty, diabetes insipidus, etc.).

Education

Graduate of a state school of nursing

Current RN licensure with the Missouri State Board of Nursing or current RN Missouri work permit

CDES certification or willing to obtain within two years
