Job summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) at RNP plays a critical role in providing high-quality nursing care to clients undergoing treatment for opioid use disorder. The RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering medications, activating orders and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote patient recovery and wellness.

Hours

Every other weekend 7am-11am

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Administration: Administer methadone in accordance with established protocols and procedures. Monitor clients for side effects and effectiveness of treatment.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, counselors, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Patient Education: Provide education to clients when needed regarding methadone treatment, medication adherence, and recovery resources.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, orders and progress in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions as needed, ensuring patient safety.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as clinic policies and procedures related to medication administration and patient care.
  • Supportive Environment: Foster a supportive and respectful environment for clients, promoting dignity and empowerment in their recovery journey.
Qualifications
  • Ability to provide caring and compassionate care.
  • Specialized judgment, skill in observation, care, and counseling of clients with co-occurring disorders.
  • Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
Education and/or Experience
  • RN licensed in the State of Connecticut.
  • Previous experience in opiate treatment programming, co-occurring programming or similar community-based behavioral health organization preferred.
  • CPR certified.
