Job summary

UCHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Progressive Care/ICU nursing team in our Aurora area facility. This onsite role requires patient-centered, high-acuity nursing care with a focus on safety and optimal outcomes.

You will monitor patients, act on life-support information, and respond to emergencies using established protocols. A state RN license and ICU/PCU experience are required, with competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved program.
• State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• 6 months of ICU or PCU nursing experience or completion of UCHealth Fellowship program.
• BLS and ACLS through recognized providers with current cards through start date.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring/life support equipment shows adverse symptomology.
• Responds to life threatening situations utilizing nursing standards and protocols for treatment.
• Provides critical care nursing to a complex high acuity patient population in a technically complex environment.
• Handles critical and highly stressful situations, reacting decisively with efficiency and composure.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
• State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• 6 months of ICU or PCU (Progressive Care Unit) nursing (RN) experience or completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program.
• BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS and ACLS cards must be good through sixty days of hire.
