Job summary

UCHealth is seeking a Night Shift RN to provide direct patient care in a high‑acuity ICU/PCU setting. You will monitor patients, respond to critical events, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes in alignment with organizational standards.

Qualified candidates hold an RN license and have ICU/PCU experience or completed UCHealth Fellowship. BLS/ACLS certification is required and must remain valid through start date.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 6 months ICU/PCU nursing experience or completion of UCHealth Fellowship.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates corrective action when monitoring equipment shows adverse symptoms.
  • Responds to life‑threatening situations using nursing standards.
  • Provides critical‑care nursing to high‑acuity patients in a complex environment.
  • Handles stressful situations with decisiveness, efficiency and composure.
  • Exhibits critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Works in a fast‑paced setting and takes appropriate action.

Location: UCHealth UCHlth Anschutz Inpt Pavilion, Aurora, CO, US

Department: Resource Pool – Progressive Care Units

Schedule: Full Time, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Nights

Pay: $35.29 - $54.71 / hour (dependent on relevant experience)

Summary: Provides direct patient care in an intensive care setting at a proficient level, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Monitors the patient to maintain a safe environment, optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Responsibilities
  • Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring/life support equipment shows adverse symptomology.
  • Responds to life‑threatening situations utilizing nursing standards and protocols for treatment.
  • Provides critical‑care nursing to a complex high‑acuity patient population in a technically complex environment.
  • Handles critical and highly stressful situations, reacting decisively with efficiency and composure.
  • Within scope of job requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 6 months of ICU or PCU (Progressive Care Unit) nursing (RN) experience or completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program.
  • BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in hand before start date.
  • BLS and ACLS cards must be good through sixty days of hire.
