Job summary

HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The RN works with physicians to provide pre-operative and post-operative care and advocates for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

Responsibilities include assessing patients at admission and each shift, documenting care, administering medications, and maintaining knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical procedures and equipment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and each shift, report changes.
• Perform pre- and post-operative nursing tasks as directed by providers.
• Document care detailed in the patient medical record promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac/medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
