NORTHWEST TEXAS HEALTHCARE SYSTEM in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for the NW Surgery Center / Inpatient Unit. This FT role provides safe, competent nursing care and professional leadership to the healthcare team in alignment with the facility's philosophy of patient-centered care.

The RN will develop and implement care plans, ensure safety, and uphold service excellence while adhering to organizational standards and accrediting guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current state nursing license to practice in Texas.
• BLS certification required upon hire or within 30 days; maintain thereafter.
• ACLS certification within 3 months of hire and maintain.
• PALS preferred.
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates age-appropriate plan of care using the nursing process, clinical skills, and patient education.
• Maintains professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts, utilizing resources as needed.
• Provides a safe environment for patients, families, visitors, and employees.
• Assesses risks to patient safety and applies precautions.
• Complies with standards outlined by organization and accrediting agencies.
• Follows safety and injury prevention standards to minimize risk to self and others.
• Applies patient-centered care delivery model as the foundation of nursing care.
