Job summary

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to lead post-operative care, including airway support, neurological and cardiac monitoring, and response to complications. You will collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams, with on-call availability during select non-business hours.

The role emphasizes patient stability during recovery, wound care, and adherence to physician orders, with a focus on safe, high-quality care in a busy acute setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Florida Registered Nurse licensure or appropriate compact licensure; FL license within 60 days if compact.
• Nursing education: Diploma/ASN required; BSN preferred.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a PACU Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in the immediate post-operative care of surgical patients. Your responsibilities will include managing airway support, closely monitoring neurological and cardiac status, and responding promptly to any complications or side effects. You will provide initial wound care to the patients’ surgical site and ensure patient stability during recovery. You will collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia team. This role includes on-call availability during select non-business hours which will be discussed in the interview.

What you will do in this role:

Requirements:

• Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.

• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.

• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.

• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
