Job summary

Allegheny Health Network, part of Highmark Health, seeks a Registered Nurse for Saint Vincent Hospital’s Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. The PACU unit supports rapid, high-acuity post-operative care with complex surgeries and on-call requirements for nights and weekends.

As a licensed RN, you will provide leadership, collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia, and ensure safe, high-quality patient care across pre- and post-operative settings.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• CPR certification required.
• Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 background clearances required.

Saint Vincent's perioperative services unit is a newly renovated, 28 bay pre-operative and post-operative care unit that supports 13 operating rooms and 5 procedural areas. This is a fast-paced critical care unit that works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia. While Saint Vincent is not a trauma center, nurses provide specialized care for patients undergoing a variety of surgeries including robotics, orthopedics, cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, neurosurgical, and general surgeries. Nurses typically work staggered daylight hours with occasional evenings, plus on call requirements for nights/weekends.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The Registered Nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible. The Registered Nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered.

• Assesss patient reports/records change of condition and notifies physician and/or supervisor and intervenes appropriately and documents accordingly.
• Accepts assignments in areas other than primary unit, and performs duties within individualized competency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

Preferred

• Certification in area of specialty
