Job summary

Baptist Union City is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in the assigned care setting, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

You will use nursing processes, prioritize care, educate patients and families, and participate in ongoing learning to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment in Union City, Tennessee.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS specialty certification preferred.
• Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient appropriately and accurately based on their medical condition.
• Administers medications as prescribed and has knowledge of ordered meds.
• Delivers care appropriate to the patient’s condition and age, including basic self-care activities.
• Formulates and evaluates teaching plans, involving family as appropriate.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to provide patient care and supports procedures requiring technical skills.
• Addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families and coordinates with social services for discharge planning.
• Practices cost-effective care and minimizes waste of supplies and resources.
• Maintains prioritization of patient care and promotes patient safety.
• Engages in lifelong learning related to nursing.

Job Summary

Communicates and collaborates with physicians, leadership, co-workers, and other multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. Provides high quality patient care utilizing critical thinking, nursing processes, decision making, compassion, integrity, respect, and empathy. Preserves the patient’s autonomy, dignity, and rights, and restores health whenever possible. Able to perform general nursing duties, patient education, and prioritization. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes patient care effectively and efficiently.
