Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is seeking a Recovery Room Registered Nurse for our PACU to provide expert post-operative care in a high-acuity setting. You will join a supportive team dedicated to exceptional patient care and continuous professional growth.

You will assess and care for post-operative patients, educate families on medications and care plans, maintain accurate records, and administer medications as ordered. Florida RN licensure and BLS are required; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Critical thinking and excellent interpersonal communication are essential.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
• Proficiency with computer systems and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care for post-operative patients in PACU.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records and post test/exam results.
• Administer medications per physician orders.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are seeking a Recovery Room Registered Nurse for our PACU. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a high acuity environment. What you will do in this role:

• You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of post-operative patients.
• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

Requirements:

• Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
