Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a skilled RN for PACU assignment in Moses Lake, WA. The position runs for 13 weeks with days shifts, 36 hours per week. Requires current RN licensure, BLS, and graduation from an accredited nursing program.

Candidates should be prepared to perform caregiver and care manager duties, maintain documentation, and collaborate with a team in a fast-paced perioperative setting. ACLS/PALS certifications are expected within 6 months of hire; CPAN is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications to be obtained within 6 months of hire; CPAN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and data collection.
  • Deliver nursing care using established procedures and care plans.
  • Educate patients and families as defined by policy and care plans.
  • Document care in patient records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and coordinate care provided by other staff as assigned.

Description:This position is responsible for functioning as both a caregiver and care manager.In the caregiver role, the RN assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame implementing the Nursing Process.In the role of care manager, the RN directs and oversees the work of other caregivers via delegation, coordination, supervision, and validation/evaluation of patient care outcomes.The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of Patient Care Services.They must have the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.

Essential Functions:
  1. Performs assessment/data collection, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
  2. Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner by utilization of pre-determined procedures, policies, and care plans.
  3. Identifies patient/significant other learning needs and implements patient teaching as defined by policy and care plans.
  4. Documents in patient records per policy and in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
  5. Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to patient and family rights.
  6. Demonstrates appropriate delegation of patient care activities.
  7. Functions effectively to supervise assigned coworkers.
  8. Demonstrates effective organization and priority setting utilizing sound critical thinking.
  9. Ensures adherence to safety requirements including infection control and safe lifting.
  10. Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function.
  11. Maintains professional growth through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  2. Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and perform CPR.
  3. Physical strength to lift and push/pull patients with assistance.
  4. Keen mental faculties for assessment and decision-making.
  5. Good reading eyesight and visual acuity.
  6. Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high-stress situations.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written skills.
Additional Requirements:
  1. ACLS certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire and renewed every 2 years.
  2. PALS certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire and renewed every 2 years.
  3. CPAN certification preferred.
  4. Continuing education requirements to complete orientation and annual training.
