Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is seeking a Pre Operative Registered Nurse to provide high quality, efficient care in a high acuity setting. You will assess and plan pre-operative care, instruct patients and families, and maintain accurate patient records while administering medications as prescribed.

The role requires Florida RN licensure (or compact) and a Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN is preferred. Prior acute care experience and BLS certification are strongly valued.

Qualifications

• Florida RN licensure or compact license required.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care of pre-operative patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records, including posting tests and results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Pre Operative Registered Nurse for our Outpatient Surgery. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a high acuity environment. What you will do in this role:

• You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of pre-operative patients.

• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.

• You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.

• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

Requirements:

• Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.

• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.

• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.

• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
