Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Oregon is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our health care team. The RN will participate as a member of the care team, delivering high-quality nursing care to Health Plan members and other patients, while following the nursing process and upholding KP values.

The RN collaborates with a care team to address acute and chronic needs, demonstrates leadership, supports patient education, and ensures safety and quality across both in-person and telephonic care

Job Summary

The RN participates as a member of the health care team in delivering quality health care to patients, which supports Kaiser Permanentes mission, vision and values. The RN provides a variety of nursing services both in person and by phone utilizing the nursing process and leadership skills to address acute and chronic needs of Health Plan members and other patients of the Kaiser Permanente Health Care Program. He/she works under the general direction of the designated supervisor.

Basic Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years of RN experience in acute care or ambulatory care/clinic setting within the last five (5) years.

• Minimum two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years in Critical Care.

Education

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

• Registered Nurse License (Oregon)

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support required at hire

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire

• Basic Life Support

Additional Requirements

• Demonstrates clinical nursing and leadership skills.

• Able to type 20 words per minute.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with population care/case management, triage and advice.

• Current or future bachelors degree in nursing or related field.

• Minimum two (2) years of experience within the last three (3) years in Critical Care.
• 2 to 5 years of critical care experience with adult patients, preferably in the PACU environment.
• 2 to 5 years of experience providing Conscious Sedation in Outpatient setting.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in Pain Management injection procedures.
• 2 years of experience within the last 3 years (Critical Care positions).
