Position Summary

Within nursing services, the Registered Nurse assumes the accountability and responsibility as a professional nurse for providing "Patient-Centered Care" for an assigned group of patients. A registered nurse plans, directs, and evaluates nursing care while taking into consideration dimensions such as physical, developmental, emotional, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and functional needs. Assessment involves the orderly collection of information to develop a comprehensive Standard of Care to meet identified patient care outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of a nursing plan of care. Established nursing objectives, standards, policies, and procedures will be followed in administering nursing care. Initial assessments provide a baseline for future comparisons that can be made to individualize care. Ongoing assessment and reassessment are required to meet the patient’s changing needs. RN ensures accurate documentation and adequate supplies and is knowledgeable in the operation of equipment. In addition to providing exceptional service, RNs have a responsibility to educate their peers, patients, and their families. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.

Threshold Requirements

These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation TB/PPD Surveillance Program Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
